In a spanking new round of updates to both the D-MAX ute and MU-X wagon ranges, Isuzu have shown that they’re hearing what the punters want, loud and clear. The updates include increased GVM ratings, suspension upgrades, improved safety features, extended servicing, as well as refreshed interiors and new colours.

Cementing it’s place towards the top of the heavily contested offroad ute sector, the 2018 D-MAX range is now headlined by the flagship LS-T variant which boasts 18” wheels, sat nav, roof rails and keyless entry and start system as standard.

The entire 2018 D-MAX range is powered by Isuzu’s exclusive 3L turbo diesel 4JJ1-TC engine. The gutsy powerplant outputs an impressive 130kW and 430Nm, and when paired with the Aisin-built six-speed automatic transmission, offers up a seamless driving experience on the highway and out on the tracks.

Tuned-up three span leaf spring suspension improves the D-MAX’s onroad handling, while Isuzu’s crack team of engineers have tweaked the build to up the 4X4 D-MAX’s GVM to a robust 3,050kg.

Trailer sway control has been added as a safety feature to all D-MAX models across the board for 2018, while rear bumpers and reversing cameras are available across the range and are even optionable for trayback models.

Both MU-X and D-MAX drivers will be happy to hear that every Isuzu vehicle sold in Australia is backed by the company’s impeccable five-year warranty, with five years of roadside assistance included as well as half a decade of capped servicing.
