Toyota’s family-orientated SUV range received an upgrade in February, with a power boost for the V6 powertrain and improved economy being the highlights.
The Kluger is now equipped with direct injection engine technology and employs a new direct shift eight-speed auto transmission.
The updated petrol donk gets a hearty 8.5% power increase, taking its maximum output up to 218KW, while max torque improves to an impressive 350Nm.
As part of an overall makeover package the mid-spec GXL variant has been given an eight-inch audio screen, inbuilt sat nav, digital radio and a power rear door with an independently operated glass hatch.
The top tier Grande variant also gained an extra safety step-up, with the addition of rear cross traffic alert plus steering control and sway warning.
Toyota honcho Tony Cramb says, “The latest Kluger updates are focused on areas that owners will appreciate – enhanced driveability, quicker overtaking, substantially improved economy and the added convenience of new features.”
