The Australian Manufactured Camper Trailer Guild was set up in 2011 to promote genuine Australian built campers, in a market flooded with cheap low-quality imports. In the years since, the guild has become the leading body representing Australian manufacturers.
Jayco, Australia’s largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles, has recently joined the guild. The chairman and founder of Jayco, Gerry Ryan, whose company builds almost 10,000 units every year, is a keen supporter of the Guild and its objectives.
“I’ve always been passionate about manufacturing, and by providing consumers with quality Australian-made RVs so we can continue to keep people in work when so many industries are moving offshore.”
Gerry adds, “Jayco employ more than 1000 people and it should be realised that every job in RV manufacturing creates another five jobs with local suppliers within the industry.”
